In comparison to normal traffic such as standard email messages, large datasets demand network resource that is out of proportion to their importance to the organisation. Foldermail's data transfer technology has been designed to provide a new paradigm for managing the flow of heavy data across networks.
Foldermail lets the user start the delivery and then do other work while it completes. The Foldermail delivery will pause momentarily for other urgent traffic on the network, however, the small delay this introduces to the transfer time will not normally inconvenience the Foldermail user. On the other hand, if the person waiting to load a file from the document management system has to wait until a large data transfer has completed, the organisation is losing a valuable staff resource.
Foldermail has been designed to provide a tool that allows the IT manager to spread the data transfer load and utilise more of the off peak network time that the organisation is already paying for.
